Scientists from the Langone Medical Center, New York University stated that they have identified a protein that causes the growth of white hair on the head.

Using the black rat as an object, the researchers managed to isolate a protein called ‘wnt’ cause gray hair. It is estimated that, in the near future, there will be drugs that can handle the hair growth.
“Hair mice and humans are very similar in terms of structure and how they store melanocyte cells,” said Piul Rabbani, chairman of the research team, as quoted by ABC News, June 21, 2011.
Rabbani said he and his team found a way of wnt growth in mice and humans alike.
Wnt proteins, said Rabbani, pigmentation in charge of coordinating between the cell and this breakthrough also means that wnt proteins can be added in hair fertilizer products or supplements that can reverse signs of aging that is graying hair.
“Our hair follicles and pigmentation of melanocyte stem cells work in a similar way. That is, certain that this can be exploited in the future, “said Rabbani.
